Lesson Learned? Oh, Probably Not...

People probably remember the tiger mauling incident on Christmas Day in 2007 at the San Francisco Zoo where, three men allegedly taunted the animal to the point where she escaped her enclosure and killed their friend, Carlos Souza, as he tried to flee. Before this incident and since, the survivors, Kulbir and Amritpal Dhaliwal had, and apparently are still, accumulating quite a lengthy rap sheet. The link at the bottom is from a San Francisco Chronicle article regarding one of the brothers' latest legal troubles: drunk driving.

Somehow we think that we will be hearing a lot more about the Dhaliwals. Pray that the next time will not be because he or his brother killed someone while driving under the influence and/or speeding. Stay tuned...

Two Days in Jail for Drunk Driving

An Interesting Article about Manners on the Road

Jon Carroll, a long time columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, wrote this piece about basic good manners for all who regularly share the road, whether they are bicyclists or motorists. Whatever the method of transport preferred, whether bicycles, cars, or donkey carts, etiquette becomes more than just politeness, it becomes a matter of safety.

A Point to Ponder

Imparting valuable information is the primary goal of Alliance Defensive Driving School. One of the ways is to be a sort of "roving reporter", noting interesting scenes that we come across. In doing so, we hope to start a dialog with our readers and bring further awareness to some of the causes of accidents, as well as focusing on more mundane driving issues and, perhaps, even coming up with ideas in solving them.

This particular accident happened yesterday. It's hard to tell who was at fault. What do you think happened and why? Speeding? Not paying attention? Did the Jeep in front stop suddenly without warning?

What ever happened, let's hope the people involved are all right.

UPDATE 11/12/09: We are happy to report that despite the horrifying sight of a car lying on it's side, nobody in either vehicle was seriously injured.
